A furnace is designed to burn coke at 200 lb/h. The coke is 91.1% C and 8.9% ash. The grate efficiency is such that 90% of the carbon charged is burnt. Air is supplied 30% in excess of that needed for complete combustion. Assume 97% of the carbon burnt goes to CO₂ and the rest to CO.
